Thursday, January 1 -  The Dallas Vegetarian Lunch Group will meet for a New Year’s Day Lunch  at 12 noon  at Veggie Garden.  This will be all you can eat: veggie chicken fried steak, black eyed peas, cornbread, mashed potatoes and all the fixin's.  Tax, tea and tip $10 per person.  For details call  James Bisby at 469-371-1938.

Thursday, January 1 - 5:30pm. to 8:30pm,  Crosby Cafe & Catering (CC&C) will once again be offering FREE vegetarian chili and cornbread salad during "Happy Hour" at the Balcony Club in Lakewood.  The Balcony Club is located next to the Lakewood Theater at the intersection of Gaston and Abrams in old East Dallas.  The evening, hosted by the Dallas Songwriters Association (DSA), will feature a combination of scheduled artists and open-mic.  Musician and songwriter Brian Terrell will open the evening at 5:30pm, followed by open-mic at 6:15pm. This month's showcase artist, Barbara McMillan, will perform from 7:30pm to 8:30pm.  Be sure to mark your calendar the FIRST THURSDAY of each month during 2004 for this ongoing event and join us at the Balcony Club to hear or play great music, eat tasty food, and network with other like-minded individuals.  Feel free to call Crosby with questions - 214-770-5573.  No reservations are necessary for this event, including the open-mic opportunity, but consider coming early, as first come, first served.
